What is the instrumentation of The Heartbeats?

The Heartbeats feature nine lead vocalists (male and female) backed by guitar, keyboards, bass, drums, Latin percussion, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and flute.

Will the musicians I see at a public performance or showcase be the same musicians who perform at my event?

Yes. The Heartbeats are a true set band, meaning the same musicians perform together at every event, whether it's a wedding reception, corporate event, Bar or Bat Mitzvah, casino, nightclub, or festival. We do not rotate or substitute musicians like many other bands. This ensures the same exceptional sound, chemistry, and professionalism at every performance.

What do you offer for cocktail hour?

Cocktail hour entertainment can be customized to fit your event and may include:

Do you provide musicians for wedding ceremonies?

Yes. We offer musicians and vocalists for ceremonies, including pianists, organists, flutists, trumpeters, string ensembles, harpists, and other specialty musicians based on your preferences.

The Heartbeats are one of the area's most versatile dance bands, performing everything from Big Band classics of the 1940s to today's biggest hits. Whether you prefer Motown, Classic Rock, Disco, Pop, R&B, Country, Jazz, Latin, or Current Top 40, we'll customize the music to match your event and your guests.

Our song list is updated regularly with both new releases and timeless favorites.

What type of music is played during dinner?

Dinner music is completely customized to your preferences. Whether you prefer elegant standards by Frank Sinatra or upbeat favorites at a comfortable volume, we'll create the perfect ambiance while allowing your guests to comfortably converse.

Will The Heartbeats learn a special song for my event?

Absolutely! If your special song isn't already on our song list, we'll gladly learn it for you at no additional charge. We simply ask that you provide the song at least four weeks prior to your event.

Do The Heartbeats perform ethnic music?

Yes. The Heartbeats perform a wide variety of ethnic music and can customize selections to reflect your heritage and traditions.

Do you provide continuous music?

Yes. We provide continuous entertainment from the beginning of your ceremony or cocktail hour through the last dance of the evening. There are no long periods of silence or recorded playlists while the band takes breaks.

How far do The Heartbeats travel?

With offices in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Blackwood, New Jersey, and Estero, Florida, The Heartbeats perform throughout the United States, from the East Coast to the West Coast.

The band has also performed internationally, including:

What are your fees?

Pricing depends on several factors, including the date, location, performance time, travel requirements, and production needs.

Entertainment packages generally range from $5,000 to $15,000 and beyond.

We also offer smaller band configurations for clients with more modest budgets while maintaining the high-energy performance The Heartbeats are known for.

What is your payment schedule?

• 25% deposit due upon signing the contract

• 25% due three months after the contract is executed

• Final 50% balance due one week prior to your event

Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferable based on the terms of your contract.

How much space does the band require?

An area approximately 20 feet wide by 10 feet deep is ideal.

Thanks to our compact, state-of-the-art sound system, The Heartbeats can comfortably perform in venues of virtually any size and can often fit into spaces designed for much smaller bands.

What are your electrical requirements?

Depending on the production package selected, The Heartbeats require two to five separate dedicated 20-amp electrical circuits.

What does the band wear?

For formal events, the band performs in elegant black tuxedos, while our female performers wear formal gowns or cocktail dresses.

For more casual events, attire is customized to match the style and theme of your event.

Do The Heartbeats provide lighting?

Yes. Every performance includes professional intelligent LED lighting for the stage and dance floor.

How many breaks does the band take?

During a typical five-hour event, The Heartbeats take one 20-minute break, usually during dinner service.

Background music continues throughout the break, ensuring there is never silence or a loss of energy during your event.

Does the band require a meal?

Yes. We do require a vendor meal for all band members and technicians. The meals can be served at the same time as your guests' main course so everyone is ready to resume the performance after our scheduled 20-minute break.

What happens if a band member becomes ill on the day of my event?

In the unlikely event that a musician becomes ill or is unable to perform, The Heartbeats will provide a qualified replacement of equal talent and professionalism.

Since our founding in 1990, The Heartbeats have never canceled a performance due to illness, giving our clients complete confidence that their event will proceed as planned.
